Someone at my place of work received one of those
large calulators with the big buttons on them as a christmas gift.  She showed it to me and I was like What the heck?! Now I am sure there was a hidden meaning to that, but what the heck could it mean? This was not me, it was a co-worker of mine. Strange right?

I actually gave one of those to a salesman I work with. We do have a joke with calculators....I guess its something you have to be there to understand though! If it matters I also bought him a jar of nuts that he likes.
Perhaps your coworker has a similar inside joke?

i got one of those once from a student of mine... and i have to say the kids LOVE it because the buttons are so huge... but if the person giving it to me was not 9 years old... yes, i would think that's strange
