I had...

a tuna sandwich today... first one I had since finding out I'm pregnant. I'm hoping it's light tuna as opposed to albacrore... I got it at a deli.

It was SOOOOO good and now I feel much better. I don't plan on doing this again anytime soon, although I did put in an order for 2 cans of light canned tuna in my next peapod order. Baby was tickling me after so he/she must have enjoyed it too. I read an article in Fit Pregnancy that these days pregnant women aren't eating enough fish b/c of the mercury scare. My BFF said she ate an occasional tuna sandwich during her pregnancies and her kids are fine. The article I read said that canned light tuna is okay (in moderation of course) as well as shrimp and scallops. I'm not going to town on any of these, but I'm not going to drive myself nuts to avoid it either.

Nothing like giving into a craving!

Re: I had...

My doctor told me that I can have one can of tuna a week. And being that I don't eat any other fish I don't get too crazy about allowing myself tuna.

Good for you for giving into the craving. There's nothing wrong with tuna in moderation. Enjoy it!

Re: I had...

you definitely can have tuna 1-2 times a week depending on what kind. I find I LOVE it too this pregnancy. I normally like it but it is like heaven now. Weird.
