Do you think IF is genetic?
Does it run in your family? My mom told me it took her a year and a half to have me. She was never diagnosed with PCOS, but I wonder did she have it and it was just not known then? She said her cycles were always regular, but the fact she tried for so long make me wonder.
SHe got pregnant with my younger brother right away though.

I don't know, but I'm inclined to say no. Perhaps certain IF issues are that are genetic. My mother did not have any trouble getting pregnant with any of us, and my only other married sibling got pregnant almost as soon as she came off BC

I totally think it is.. Almost all the women in my family and DH's family have had one form or another of IF.

I think it depends on the issue. I think there are predispositions to certain conditions/diseases/disorders, but I do not think they are a given in each case.

My mom NEVER had a problem getting PG, so in my case no.
My mom always told me she NEVER had a problem getting PG with all of us.
But my one sister was trying fow awhile and now just told me the other day that she is expecting

Not in my case. My mom got pg three times practically on command, and a fourth time was an "oops".
My sisters have three children between them, and one of them also had an "oops" baby.
On the other hand, I wonder if IF in males is hereditary. Dh's mom only had him with dh's dad. It took her three years before she got PG with dh, and you know back in the day they didn't go to drs for that.

Not sure......My mother didn't have any problems, but she was 18, 20 and 22 when she had us. I'm almost 37, so.....

Its weird, no one on my hubbys side or my side has had any probs..then again, we are much older than our parents were so maybe age is a bit of a factor..it is hard to understand really?
