spinoff to smoking in bars
you know whats ANNOYING about not being able to smoke in bars?
waiting for drinks!
bartenders have to go out as well.
anyone ever find themselves waiting on them? that can get alittle annoying.

I have yet to be to a bar where a lone bartender is outside smoking. There is either two or more or the one bartender is not allowed out.

IMO they shouldn't be smoking during work hours. I smoked for 9 years and worked at least some sort of job for all of them. Unless I was at lunch, I did not smoke during the day. If it impedes your job, you shouldn't be doing it - be it smoking or something else.
ETS: That said, I, like the others, have actually never experienced this. And believe you me, I've spent MORE than my fair share of hours at bars.

I haven't really noticed thatl. I have received slow service because of other reasons (crowds, slow service or socializing) but I haven't noticed the bartender running in and out all night to have a smoke.

I have never had that happen. I don't think I would like a bar where the bartender went on break.

I will say that what pi$$e$ me off is working with smokers behind the bar. Sometimes they go out for 6-8 cigs a night. That is equal to about an hour long break that I don't get. I try to ask them to curb it, but until the word comes from my boss (who is a smoker) it won't change.
That being said there is always a person behind the bar so that nobody has to wait for a drink.

No bartender should be out on a smoke break if its busy enough where people are waiting for drinks.
Ive seen people get fired for this.

Yeah you can forget about ever seeing that change.
Thats a lot of cigs BTW. I'd be ****** too.

c) if ANYONE walks in she puts it out and goes right back in behind them

Because NO bartender with a full house would ever dream of taking a break...
IMO there should be NO SMOKING in bars anyway

yeah, she only goes when its pretty empty.
and she smokes outside, not in.
