Is she having a reaction or just being lazy?

Lilly got her bordatella and Leptospirosis vaccines yesterday. She slept straight for 8 hours last night and this morning she had some red-tinged mucous in her stool and she threw up some mucous-y clear liquid. She has done nothing but sleep since she woke up this morning.

Because of the weather, neither DH or myself have done much of anything today, aside from lay on the couch. Is there a possibility that she is lethargic from the shots she got yesterday? Or are we just having a general lazy-family day?

I'm a little worried... Chat Icon

Re: Is she having a reaction or just being lazy?

I just got off the phone with the vet and they said that as long as she's not swollen or actively vomiting (she is dry heaving) or having major diarrhea, she should be OK and that she will be a little groggy for a day or so. They told me to give her half the amount of food she normally gets for lunch and see how she does with that. We also gave her a few drops of corn syrup a few minutes ago and she has perked up a bit. DH just took her outside to do her business and she is prancing around like normal now. We are going to keep a close eye on her and have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to bring her in.

I'd also make certain that her BMs and urine are normal according to what you have fed her.

Hope she feels better soon!Chat Icon

Our Nugget was really lethargic after his shots, too--but he snapped out of it in a day or two. Chat Icon
