quick question
I feel myself coming down with a cold. My dr's office is closed and since this isn't an emergency I don't want to bother the service. Anyone know what I can take over-the-counter? I don't want to suffer all weekend.
Thank you!!

Re: quick question
I've always just stuck it out.....suffered it out. as long as it is just a cold then you should be fine. Drinks lots of fluids and vitamin C. Maybe someone else will post something better.

Re: quick question
I've had 2 colds... the home remedys include gargling with salt water and drinking decaf tea with real honey and juice from a real lemon (not the lemon honey flavored tea - that's worthless).
Some people find Afrin to work okay, I didn't. I've also used saline nasal spray like Ocean. Some will take Sudafed, but ask your pharmacist for the "correct" one, my pharmacist told me what they had on the shelf was not the Sudafed that is okay to take in pregnancy. I have the sudafed, but never took it... I wish I had it for the first cold when I wanted to put my head through the wall I was in so much agony.

Re: quick question
I took Sudafed during my first pregnancy when I had a really bad cold. If you are very miserable then I would say take it. I tried to limit it to twice a day, once early in the day and once late at night. So far I haven't had to take anything for a cold this time but if I was very sick I would take Sudafed again. It doesn't work great like a lot of other medicines do. but it does help take the edge off.

Re: quick question
I try to tough it out! Sometimes I will take regular strength tylenol if I can't sleep. At the beginning I had a horrible cold and i took sudafed ONCE! But, that's it!
