Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
We're hear at Hair Village right now & they're telling my friend the run around about how much her hair would cost to get straightened.
Her hair is a little more than shoulder length. It's wavy, not curly but thick.
They're telling her the cost is $200 plus tip.
What did everyone pay for their JHS?

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
Okay!
I have pretty curly, long hair (mid-way down my back) and I paid 225 for the first time and 195 the second time (It wasn't at touch-up, they had to do it all over again and it was a discount because I brough 2 others with me).

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
I've been going to Top Point. My hair is very curly, but not thick, nor do I have lots of it.
The first time I paid $250 because my hair was very long (they called me Pocohantas ).
I've since cut my hair to mid back/bra strap length, so the times thereafter it's been $180.

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
My hair is down my back, and it's $150 - no way should she pay more than $200.

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
My hair is mid-back and medium curly but pretty puffy when dried naturally..I've been thinking about getting JHS done and was going to call around this week before the holiday... your all saying more than $200 is too much? Someone else on here said there's was $250 at New Made and I thought that was .. cheap.. maybe I'm wrong.. ?

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
Also.. from all of you who have had it done...
Does it ruin your hair's texture.. ? Mine is finally really healthy and long..
AND
Is there seriously no blow drying required anymore?
IT JUST SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
Thanks all! They agreed to do it for $190 which I think is a bit ridiculous considering I've seen Baby Avocado's which is very thick, long & curly (well no longer) but but we're already here.
I'm midway through! YEAH FOR STRAIGHT HAIR!

That was me that posted about new mode being $250. $250 is a good price to get it done on long island. Most other places on long island are about $500. If you are getting it done in queens though, its usually cheaper. Because I have think & long hair, I paid $230 when I went to top point in queens. So for me the extra $20 is worth it not to have to go into queens.
And yes, I don't even have to blow dry my hair anymore

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
Oh.. okay.. that explains it.. I would def. rather not have to go into queens either Plainview is wayyy closer..
Thanx for the advice...
I think I am a little overly excited about getting it done..

Re: Help!: Japanese Hair Straightening
It depends on the length and thickness of your hair. Obviously the thicker/longer your hair is, the higher the price.
I had mine down in Hong Kong for $45 USD. But, that's no help to you, i suppose, hah! You can def. get it done for$150-$200 if you shop around in Chinatown.
