is it REALLY a 2WW?
I'm having my first IUI tomorrow morning. I was hoping it would've been sooner so I'd know one way or the other by Christmas. Which means 2 weeks from tomorrow is the 28th. So, is it really a 2 week wait? Should I not bother testing on Christmas morning (or the day before) - will it be too early? TIA.

I recommend not testing before the two weeks is up, but a lot of people will test sooner. I always just found it too frustrating to keep testing. Besides, if you got a negative on Christmas it could totally ruin the holiday.

I tested positive at 10 DPO, BUT it is possible to get a negative that early and go on later to test positive. it all depends when your little one decides to implant itself on the uterin wall. So, I would avoid the disappointment of a false negative and just wait until you are officially late to test!

Absolutely. My tests didn't show a positive until after AF was late. I started testing before AF was late and then I stopped testing because I thought I wasn't pregnant. I was 1 week late before I tested again and THEN I got a positive. Try to wait and don't ruin your holiday. Instead of a Christmas present, it could be a great New Years present!!

I tested positive at 9 dpo but only using FRER, I still tested negative on digital and dollar tree for awhile.

I"m the wrong one to ask! I tested out my trigger (10,000iu Pregnyl) starting at 5 dp trigger, so I know I had a real BFP at 10 DPO! I saw the HPT go back to negative and then turn positive again. But, I'll suggest others wait though!

Re: is it REALLY a 2WW?
It took me a while to stay away from testing like crazy after every IUI. Ironically, the one that got me pg I didn't test until 10 dpiui and got a bfn with the digital. I got a VERY VERY faint positive on the dollar tree test at 11 dpo, and finally the two lines we all want to see on the First Response at 12dpiui.
If we can't keep you from testing, try waiting until at least 10-11 dpiui and use the First Response.
Good luck!!

I always advocate not testing until it has been a full 2WW.

I wanted to know for xmas last year so I tested 10 dpo and got a negative. 12 dpo I tested again and got a positive.
