EEG test next wed/thursday

As some of you know, when i was a baby i had seizures from 11 months old till 1, and I've been on phenobarbital all of my life, well I'm seizure free for 37 years and last year i told my dr. that i want to try for a baby, he did a mini eeg on me last year and it was sooo perfect that he had to do a triple look at it.Well he told me he wanted me to do a 48 hour eeg before i get Pg, 'WELL' i'm going for this test next week i got the confirmation for and I'm a nervous nelly, I pray and pray that everything is going to turn out ok. Please everyone i'm 'REALLY' counting on my Lif family to stick by me, I know i'm a person who ask for to much and might be getting on some of your last nerves ,'BUT' this would mean a lot to me for these prayers because someday i do want to have a family and like I said I'm nervous and scared.... What am I scared of you wonder? that they are going to say there is something wrong with me and I wont have my dream come true.Chat Icon 'Praying that they will say the oppositeChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Thanks for letting me get this out and letting me share this with you.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: EEG test next wed/thursday

don't worry!

I had a seizure when I was in my early 20's (inital EEG was Chat Icon), and was on meds for about 10 years. I had an EEG much later, and I looked fine.

I've been off medication for years now, with no problems. I can even drink again Chat Icon

Ok...You totally know my situation. You know I went through it all, and, I think I turned out OK. Who would have thought I'd have a seizure at 29 Years old (make that 2 seizures)..You know my history.
I did the 48 hour test. Same situation as you. I will be honest. It's Not comfy having all those wires and crap taped to your head, BUT, it's soooo worth it!!!!

The thing about coming off the meds, that, was sometimes and inconvinience for the family and some co workers at times, was NO DRIVINGChat Icon
That was THE HARDEST part. Being so DEPENDENT on Everyone is hard!!
When I was able to drive again, I felt like the 18 Year old girl who JUST got her license again.

OMG, so true. In the beginning, everyone is so supportive... months later, I was tired of asking, and they were tired of driving Chat Icon

It's true... it's soooo worth it to get off of meds. you'll feel so much better. the pills made me tired all the time, and it was difficult to focus at times. I regained my stamina and attention span after getting off of them Chat Icon
good luck, you'll be in my thoughts Chat Icon

They didn't mind doing it (at least I don't think they did) they just wanted me to get better. Honestly, I probably didn't even have to be on the pills. They think it was all related to an allergic reaction. I did feel better coming off the pills..Nervous. But. Better.

But, Ro..Im sorry Im hijacking your thread.

I will be honest..Coming off the meds scared me to pieces! It took me a while to get "strong" and not be worried. I won't lie. I still get nervous..You know me...I question every little aspirin, every little medication..It's scary.
If you have the family and friends to help you out with everything (which I know you do) you should be fine!
You know we are all here for you!
