Level I vs Level II
Whats the difference? I see most people refer to the ultrasound when they learn the sex of the baby as the Level II. Mine will be at 20 weeks and my OB gave me instructions to call the hospital to schedule this but called it the Level I.

Re: Level I vs Level II
The level II sonogram is more detailed than the Level 1. It can pick up the baby's organs so that the dr can see if the heart, kidneys, brain, etc. are developing.
I had mine yesterday and the technician was able to differentiate the chambers of teh heart, etc.
I think it is just a more precise sonogram.
As for finding out the sex, I found out at 16 weeks at my regular sonogram, but I think most doctor's wait till the level II, bc then, you can definitively see if it is developing boy or girl organs while earlier, you may not be able to.

My OB said they'd do all of this. I'm confused. I'll have to ask her at my next appt. I'll see my OB, then 2 weeks later have to go to the hospital for the 20 week U/S. Thanks!
