what can this biting be?
My shih tzu is constantly biting his tail - raw, I mean 24 hours a day. We had a horibble flea problem this past summer, but no more. I have an app't Friday, but what can this be?
I did a google and 1 site said it could be to get attention..complusive disorder. Anyone hear of this ?
sheezz , I hope there is some medicine, I hear him biting all night and can't sleep myself.

It could be flees again. Or I don't know how often you walk your dog, but she could be really bored and simply need a walk everyday. Dogs tend to get destructive when they are bored either to themselves or objects like your shoes.

it could be boredom. Also depending on how your groom your dog it could be winter itch. My Crested gets this b/c her tail fringe is so thin that the wind actually can get to the skin on her tail.
