Updated- Polyps anyone?

What do you know about them? Just got a call from my dr and I'm extremely upset but am on my way out the door-DH and my mom are waiting for me.
I'll update what the dr said later but please I need to know anything about them and please either respond or FM me if you've ever had one in your uterus. Chat Icon The hits just keep on coming...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Did they tell you how big they are? I have one but it is very small, my doctor wasnt concerned with it.

Where are your polyps? I had one one my cervix. I had it removed, D&C and my cervix streched.

Re: Polyps anyone?

I had one that was working its way through my cervix a few years ago. Had it surgically removed in the doctor's office :ouch: and then had a d&c. They do send them out for biopsy but typically they are not cancerous. I havent had any since.

Re: Polyps anyone?

I had a polyp on my uterus that the doctor thought was a major reason for me not getting pregnant. He removed it through a hysteroscopy - was a one day in and out surgery with a fairly quick recovery. FYI, I got pregnant the following month.

Re: Polyps anyone?

Thanks everyone. Tonight stinks... I am back to my depressed and emotional state and I hate that I feel like I can't conquer this. Chat Icon DH keeps telling me to think positive but all I keep hearing are the words from my dr that it's in my uterus, it could be cancerous (but usually not), and that it may prevent me from becoming pregnant--- then there's the if you do get pregnant, it may keep you from staying pregnant, and could cause a miscarriage.
He asked if I wanted to throw away my entire cycle and all of the injections and bloodwork and scans that I put myself thru to get it looked at and removed... I told him that no, I didn't. I'm losing my medical and my plan now (after a long talk w/ my mom and DH and a phone call back to my dr so my mom could talk to him directly) is to continue the cycle, see if the iUI takes, and if it doesn't then to have the surgery before the end of the year so it's covered. (Dr said we'd know before the end of the year if we were pg or not from this cycle).
I'm just so scared and feeling awful Chat Icon

Re: Updated- Polyps anyone?

I had a polyp removed in May 2005 after several IUIs and an HSG. The surgery wasn't bad at all! In and out (I even went shopping afterwards)

Many women get pregnant after the polyp is removed. Good luck!!!!
