Only covers diagnostic testing?
Wow, I was all excited I just made my first RE appointment and got a call back from the office to tell me that our coverage only covers diagnostic testing! I am stunned, I truly can't believe it. My husband is in the steamfitters union and I was under the impression that we couldn't get better coverage then what they have and now here I am blindsided! I'm now contacting my HR to see what they would cover. Just when you think this process can't get any more frustrating, it does.

You would think insurance companies would bend giving that a good percentage of couples are dealing with infertility issues. We pay enough money to insurance.... good luck

I just got through to my HR and the woman there is so nice and helpful. I'll speak further to her tomorrow but at my company we do have coverage so I will need to see how I am going to make this work because we just changed to his in Oct. I am feeling some relief now--at least there is hope.
Nothing with insurance is ever easy! Thanks for the support ladies.

I'm in the same boat as you--and DH's coverage doesn't cover it, either.

Unions are hard insurances to have. I used to work for insurance, and the issue with Unions is they dont have to follow the NYS mandates for certain things...like infertility coverage....
So frustrating....
