Re: Is it...
It is porsch-uh.
In German every letter is pronounced, even those last e's. The e has an uh sound. So that is the correct German pronunciation and being that it is a German car it should be pronounced like that...
But it isn't and I think, hey who cares? The English language isn't as phonetic as German.

Re: Is it...
A blonde was down on her luck one day, and needing some hard currency, she decided to walk around an estate and see if people needed any jobs doing.
- Knock, Knock
Man - "Hello, "
Blonde - "Hi! Do you want me to do any jobs, I could do with some money!"
Man - "Hmm, yes. If you could paint my porch for me, I'll pay you $100"
Blonde - "Wow! $100 I'll do it!"
So the man goes for a walk somewhere and leaves the blonde to it. When he returns, the porch looks as filthy as it did before. Odd he though, I wonder where she's gone? Going in to the garage, he sees that his car has been given a lovely coat of whitewash.
Man - "What have you done!!!???!!!???"
Blonde - "I've painted your Porsche like you've asked...?"

I went to the auto show in the city one year and the porshe people were doing a demo and they said Por SHUH. It drove me nuts but I think that is technically the way to say it. I still say Por-sh

Yup, correct pronunciation is porsch-uh. Being that it's a proper noun, however, that is THE (single) correct pronunciation. Pronouncing it "porsch" is the slang for the proper pronunciation... which just turned into too many people not knowing how to correctly pronounce the name.

The English language has changed the pronunciation of many proper nouns. How come it is OK to say Rome instead of Roma and all other country and city names? Those are all proper nouns. There are so many other English words for foreign words I am sure almost everyone pronounces German beers incorrectly why would the incorrect pronunciation be slang and not different phonetics? I wouldn't call it slang IMO.
