IVF??
I am on CD6 and have been doing injectibles since CD1 (Gonal-F). I have gone in for bloodwork & sono every other day and things are progressing nicely.
Is there anyway I could have IVF this cycle? I was suppose to do IUI but my chances of IUI working are minimal.
Do I have to do a lot of prep or could I just have a retrieval this week?

Re: IVF??
I don't think so-- I was in a similar situation and my drs office told me that IVF requires going thru tons of bloodwork, tests, etc... and taking an IVF class before even starting to actually do IVF.

You need a lot more prep. Most IVF cycles from start to finish are about 2 months ( or 2 cycles)..
You need tests like a watersono and a trial IVF before hand..
You are usually on Lupron and or BCP'S to get your body ready etc for a cycle prior to the IVF cycle and need to be monitored for about a few weeks before the IVF to make sure everything is maximized for it...
Your Hubby has to give a sample to freeze a few days prior etc.
Its a lot of work, they actually use give you a folder of stuff to help you organize and plan what you ened to do when for it.
You will need to be on more medications b/c they want to produce as many eggs as they can whilst IUI is more quality driven.
Some Clinics do like mini ivf's that are possible mid cycle, but I am not familiar with them or know who does.

Re: IVF??
Im currently stimming for my first IVF, and it's a TON of work. I'd ask your doctor, but I had to go through a ton of paperwork, and two different classes before I could begin the injections for it. Im sure every clinic is different though (Im in NC).
Good luck.
