When you say you are a certain number of weeks..
Do you count it from your last period? My last period was October 21st, but my periods were so long that I don't think I conceived until mid November. I have no idea how many weeks I am..

Yes you count from your last period. So I am 34 weeks but the age of the baby is 32 weeks. There are web sites where if you put in the date of your last period they will give you a due date and tell you how far along you are. Then when you have your first sono the doctor will confirm how old your baby is. HTH!

I waited for the doctor to tell me based on my last period. Every so often I have to ask again.

Just like the others my OB went by the first day of my last period which was Saturday, Sept 1st, my due date is June 8th which currently makes me 14 weeks as of tomorrow.

Because we knew the date of conception we used that to determine how many weeks i am. my cycles are longer than normal so counting from my LMP would have made me a week further along than i really am.....

I also have long cycles, about 35 days. At my first appointment I thought I was 7 weeks but I was only measuring 6 weeks, which would make sense. But my doctor sent me for a sonogram to measure the baby in order to get a better idea of how far along I am. I am right on track from the start of my last cycle. So although I have longer cycles I am still on track for where a person with a normal cycle would be.
Your doctor will probably send you for a sonogram to measure the baby and they will figure out how far you are at that point.
