Babysitter charge?/ We never had a babysitter and are considering the girl on our block. She is 14 or 15 and is babysitter certified (unfortunately not cpr certified though) whatever that means. I have no clue what to pay her. Can anyone give me an idea what the going rate for a babysitter is? TIA

I pay my babysitter (senior in hs) $10/hour - not certified whatever that means. She seemed happy with the amount when I told her.

As gettho as it sounds, when I had sitter.. about the same age as the one you are saying.. I asked her what she charged.
I obviously had never had paid a sitter, and did not wat to jip her yet, didnt want to overpay her.. She asked for 8 an hour. I think it also depends on how old your baby is. I wish I was still in ny.. I loved my sitter!  HTH--GL!
