1st Trimester & Cramping???
I am about 7 1/2 weeks now and have had cramping on and off everyday since I was suppose to get AF! Has this happened to anyone before? I had a sono and saw the baby and the heartbeat @ 7 weeks and everything looked good, but everytime I get a cramp I get so worried that something is wrong. Did anyone cramp in their first trimester? I told the nurse who told me to drink more fluids but that doesn't seem to make them go away.

Re: 1st Trimester & Cramping???
I had the same issue..and was always told its normal. Sometimes drink excess water helped but its pretty consistent for a while. Mine lasted until about 10 weeks. Some doctors say its stretching..to make room for baby!

Re: 1st Trimester & Cramping???
My doctor actually told me it's common to have some cramping late in the first trimester (weeks 7-12) because it's your uterus actually growing/expanding.

Re: 1st Trimester & Cramping???
I definately had cramping in the first trimester, but none after that. The doctor said it was totally normal. If you start to bleed also, then you should give them a call.

I am 10 weeks and have been cramping since the beginning. I just know that I need to rest when I cramp.

Re: 1st Trimester & Cramping???
I had AF like cramps until Week 8. Then at 9 weeks, 3 days I got really bad cramps that reminded me of the cramping from my miscarriage. They lasted for three days (I posted about them b/c I was so scared). They stopped at 9 weeks, 5 days and never came back!
My OB says they're normal - your uteris is a muscle that stretches and contracts and is getting quite a workout right now!

I had cramping too. My doctor said it was normal and that there was no need to worry as long as it was accomanied with bleeding.

Re: 1st Trimester & Cramping???
I had lots of cramping and at almost 9 weeks now, it has tapered off. But in the beginning, i had cramping every day.
As long as its not painful cramping where you can't walk... my doctor said it's normal! Remember... you're body is changing and shifting!
