Anyone own this coat from VS?
I'm thinking about getting this belted coat from VS. My hips are not small, so I'm worried about the location of the pockets being unflattering. Anyone own this coat or have an opinion on the pockets/hip issue?
Thanks Image Attachment(s):

The thing I hate about VS clothes in general is that there is always some wayward button, pocket, snap etc. I think the coat is beautiful EXCEPT for the pockets. How much is it? Maybe you can find a similar white coat without pockets. I just got one from French Connection. It was 300 bucks.

The one with the pockets is $99 right now. This is my second choice ($139) BUT I actually already own this coat in another color. I've gotten tons of compliments on it, but I'd feel sort of silly buying the exact same coat in a different color. I really do like it though.... Image Attachment(s):

FYI I have this coat - I wore it today actually. I love it. But if you think this one is ok with the hip area (I find it to "pouf" out a lot from the waist, although I think its a little too big) then you're probably fine with the original coat you posted.

I own it too, in the light pink you listed!! I was worried about the same thing at first, but it fits nicely. Its really comfortable. The only thing I would change is the lining.. its a slippery poly material that doesnt provide as much warmth as other fabrics. but for the price, its a GREAT coat.

also, that belt does not go all the way around... and the coat is closed with snaps, not buttons.

Re: Anyone own this coat from VS?
you could always have the coat tailored and the pockets taken out and sewn in ........Kind of defeats the purpose of $99 sale, but if you really love it otherwise - it's an option -
I do love that coat !!

No, sorry - I have the second coat. I meant if you don't think that second coat poufs out too much then I think the first one will be fine. Sorry I wasn't clear! BTW, I get a million compliments on the second coat!

Oh okay!! I get confused sometimes I get a lot of compliments on that coat too (I have it in red), which is why part of me is thinking I should just get it in winter white since I know it's flattering on me. Decisions, decisions

Re: Anyone own this coat from VS?
I have the first coat as well in Light Blue. It's very form fitting but looked nice. However, mine ripped in the back (I re-sewed it), but then when i sent it to the cleaner to be cleaned it came back looking dirty. I have not really worn it since that.

When you say "form fitting," is it form fitting through the whole coat or just on top? From the pic, it looks like it might be an A-line with a slight flare but it's hard to tell. Thanks so much!
And sorry about the dry cleaner messing up your coat! That's awful. Have you tried taking it back to them so they can fix it?

Re: Anyone own this coat from VS?
Ahhhhhh, the coat. I bought this coat 3 years ago after my successful 50 lb weightloss with WW. LOVE THE COAT. I got it in black.
So I put on 20 lbs of the 50 I lost due to a health problem 2 years ago and I love the coat so much I re-ordered it in my new size.
UM IT'S DIFFERENT!!!!! The material is completely different (almost a little fuzzy), the fit is awful (it's not as tailored as my other one is) and just does not have the same quality. It's just one size bigger and I still own the first one I bought. I'm so upset because I really wanted a black wool 3/4 length coat for the winter and this one fit so well before - why oh why did they have to start making it differently now!?!? So now I have to return it. So upset.

I like the 2nd coat better, but wouldn't get it in a 2nd color. They are both VS, right?

Sorry I just saw this. It's form-fitting on top (above the belt) and not so much on the bottom. It is stuffy to move your arms around to tell you the truth, but again it's very form fitting so that is why.
The dry cleaner actually didn't screw it up. Like another poster mentioned, the material is different and while it is not dirty in the literal sense, the material looked very worn after being cleaned so it's not as "sharp" as it use to be. If that makes sense.
