My hanukah confession
I only love Hanukah because of latkes.
Mmmmm, yummy, crispy, onion-y, topped with applesauce latkes.
My second love
Will be going to sleep with a latke-filled belly tonight, thanks to DH

Re: My hanukah confession
ya know, you don't have to wait for hanukah to eat latkes
While I'm German, not Jewish, I grew up with potato pancakes too.... love them with cinnamon apple sauce...
we used to be really decadent... we ate them ALONE as a dinner

I love the Gelt too, but it has to be milk chocolate. If I open gelt and it is dark, I throw it out.

Re: My hanukah confession
Potato pancakes are from all eastern European countries. So that is probably why a family with German roots has them. Bubby & Zadye brought them to America. Addictive oil filled fried potato pancakes....yummmmmmy.

Re: My hanukah confession
I'm not Jewish but LOOOOOVE potato pancakes. I've even ordered them at IHOP -- I'm certain that's not the best place for them.
My favorite Jewish deli in Plainview closed. What a disappointment. They had the best latkes goin...

Mmmmm, you haven't had a latke until it's homemade by a jewish bubby, and comes hot, right off the grill! If you like the IHOP potato pancake, you'll die and go to latke heaven when you taste a fresh one!
My tummy is still gurgling a bit from last night's feast

Sadly, I'm destined to be the world's worst bubby - I can't cook to save my life!
