I think I have a blocked salivaary gland
it started yesturday and I thought nothing of it. When I ate breakfast (and later with sour patch kids) sort of felt like a cramp under my tongue and then swells under my jaw line.
It happend again this evening, so now I am concerned. I looked it up on line and the symptoms sound like a blocked salivary gland.
Should I call my OB tomorrow or go to a ENT dr?

Re: I think I have a blocked salivaary gland
I had something like that before and it turned out to be a swollen Lymphnode from an infection.

Re: I think I have a blocked salivaary gland
Very funny! I recently went through the same thing and it turned out to be an allergy to my toothpaste!!
So, I had the same thing as you with swollen salivary glands and it hurt when I moved my tongue (this was 3 weeks ago). I called my general practitioner and he said to suck on lemon heads and drink water to clear a blocked salivary gland.
Two days of this, no worse, no better. Then my lips started tingling on the third night. I woke up on the fourth day with my lips swollen to a scary cartoon character size! We went to the ER, I was checked in for observation. After lots of guesses from many doctors including an ENT, they gave me benadryl and it did nothing. I went home, the next day I went to an ENT and he said allergy. Gave me a steroid which started to help. Then four days later gave me a steroid cream which helped a ton. So I got better over the next 3-4 days. Then it happened again (two weeks after the first time but only a few days after fully recovering). I saw the ENT again and my OB. Then today an allergist. Turns out it is my toothpaste!! So strange! They said pregnancy brings on allergies you never had.
I'd call an ENT or Allergist, my OB knew nothing. I asked her about my toothpate and brought it to her last week and she said no, but the allergist knew it right away.
Good Luck!!!

Re: I think I have a blocked salivaary gland
I went to the ENT and they told me to suck on the lemon too (which is giving me guilt free freedom to eat sour patch kids ). We'll see if that works.
He could not feel a stone (yes you can get stones in your glands, like you do your kidneys) He did not want to put me on an antibiotic.
I go to the OB next week, so hopefully it'll be better by then.
I don't think it's the toothpaste, because it only really swells when I eat and the salavary gland is getting active.
