Swollen Feet/Ankles

Does every pregnant person eventually get swollen feet and ankles? Or is that just a sympton that some people can possibly get?

Just curious.

I'm only 4.5 months but i'm really dreading that, and hoping that i'm spared.

Re: Swollen Feet/Ankles

At 33 weeks my ankles and feet have started to swell. They are usually pretty bad by the end of the day, but go down by morning.

Re: Swollen Feet/Ankles

At 32 weeks, by the end of the day, I have cankles. My OB suggested getting one of those maternity support belts to help reduce swelling.

Re: Swollen Feet/Ankles

Mine started swelling around 32 weeks, but not everyday. Some days I don't get any swelling at all, and some mornings (two times) I can't put on shoes.

Re: Swollen Feet/Ankles

Towards the end of my pregnancy with my DS, I had feet that resembled those of Fred Flinstone. It did stink to not be able to put shoes on though. Makes going to work kind of difficult.... Try to keep your feet elevated as much as possible....

Re: Swollen Feet/Ankles

I worked on my feet 8-10 hours a day
( I am a Hairdresser) until the day before I delivered DD #1 and never had swollen feet and ankles. Sore feet but never swollen.

I would cut back on your salt intake and try to drink more water!Chat Icon You really shouldn't be swollen at only 4 months.

Im just about 37 weeks pregnant and have not had any swelling at all in my feet or ankles. I do have some swelling in my lower belly though(dr. said that is normal)...so no, not everyone gets swelling in their feet/ankles.

ETA: Sorry I didn't read your post correctly, I though you wrote that you were swollen at 4 months......

The only time I got swollen was at 38 weeks when my BP was high, and they delivered the baby c-section.

Re: Swollen Feet/Ankles

Thanks for all the responses...At least i have some hope. Its bad enough my face is badly broken out and my boobs are getting too big.the last think i need is swollen ankles.
Although, it seems as though if i do get them, it will be towards the end of the pregnancy..in the meantime, i will enjoy wearing my high heels.
