My aunt is a piece of work
I posted last week about my aunt who always talk about money and how "phenomenal" her bills. Well she stopped by tonight with my uncle and one cousin to see the baby which I thought was nice. I have all my Christmas gifts in my dining room waiting to be wrapped. She goes "Did you buy gifts for the girls' yet"? I said, "Yes, why?" She responds, "Well they like Vera Bradley." I said, "Ok, I bought "D" a vera Bradley wristlet." "Oh you did? well which one?" So I show her and she goes, "Yeh that's good" as she is trying to look at the price tag.
Just a little background. We are very close with my mom's one sister, uncle and 3 cousins. But my one cousin is now graduated and working full-time and the twins are juniors in college. We also spend Christmas with my cousins' boyfriends family. I suggested this year being everyone is ADULTS now that we do a Secret Santa but of course all still buy for my grandmother. Apparently noone liked that idea. You would think they would have gotten the hint that now that I have the baby I dont want to be buying 10 people Christmas gifts anymore. It is just getting too crazy. We are all adults now. Funny thing is, I KNOW that when my cousin gets married and has kids all of a sudden its going to be "Well, I dont think we should all exchange right now b/c its a lot with the baby" Well what about when I had to do it And you would think my aunt would say not to buy anything for her and my uncle but of course not. She still wants a gift
ETA: I ALWAYS buy her kids nice gifts. Who is she to come out of nowhere and ask what I bought and than wants to see it to make sure it is "up to par" #2 I dont need her suggestions!
