Re: changing table??

I would keep it.......especially the first few weeks it may be easier to reach do do at the changing table instead of leaning in a crib or getting on the floor.

Re: changing table??

I think we were planning on skipping the table, but getting the pad. Since we are first time parents I like the security of having that padding there, but I will probably be changing her in the crib or on a table.

Re: changing table??

We're doing a dresser/changing table combo. The changing table part comes off so that it'll just be a dresser when she's done with the diaper phase. I like the added security of a designated changing area (it has a small wall to prevent her from rolling off . . . which would be a bad thing). There's a pic in my album of the dresser.

Re: changing table??

Definitely hold onto the pad...we have a regular dresser too & just added the pad & its a perfect height to change her & the pad keeps her more secure than the bed & its a lot easier than the crib (believe me); even the top of the pack N play isn't that great b/c its pretty low.

Re: changing table??

I have a changing table and a pack n' play that I use to change DD. I would never change her in the crib b/c it would kill my back. Also, DD has a tendency to decide to go #1 in the middle of changes....it's a heck of a lot easier to change the changing pad cover than crib sheets. Crib sheets are a PITA to change. I've done it on people's beds and on the floor with the pad in my diaper bag when at people's houses....but I HATE doing it b/c it kills my back also.

I have a ranch also and I always either bring DD to her room to change her on the table or change her on the pack n play changing table which we keep in the living room right next to the kitchen. Maybe if this is your 2nd or 3rd kid and you're chasing toddlers around all day you'll be more prone to change wherever, but I think you'll regret not having it now.

I didn't want a changing table. I have never once changed a diaper on one. I find it easier to be directly in front of the baby...on the floor or bed.

I would keep it. I thought the same thing, never going to use one so never set out to get one. I got the dresser with changing table, but would of never used it. I wound up getting a changing table and it was one of the best things I did. I got it real cheap so it was worth it to me.
