Roomba - anyone have one
DH and I are thinking of getting a roomba. If you have one, what are your thoughts? Do you like it? Does it work on hardwood floors? (We have lots of dust bunnies!)
TIA!

Re: Roomba - anyone have one
hi! we have one and i really like it! we even named him zack- LOL it doesnt' do quite as well as a regular vaccum, so you still need to have one of those, but for day-to-day, the roomba is great. especially becasue we have a dog and he sheds a lot, so running the roomba even twice a week helps to keep up with his hair. we have pretty much all hardwood floors with some area rugs, and its fine on both. the area rugs in our bedroom are kind of thick, and sometimes it gets stuck on those, but the thinner area rugs it goes on and off of with no problem!

Re: Roomba - anyone have one
We LOVE ours !!! We recommended buying one to a friend & now everyone in her family has one too !! We even got the Scooba recently too.
They work great but since they're round the corners sometimes have to be cleaned by hand and you have to make sure to keep them clean (we clean it every use).
I talk to mine when he gets stuck on the fringes of the rug
HIGHLY recommended ! Buy one !

we got one as a gift - but I like our dyson much much better. The roomba would always get stuck under things and would need to be recharged all the time. Not worth the money in my opinion.

I was wondering others feedback too.
We met a couple the other day that swears by theirs! They have it set to clean everyday and it's great on the wood floors, just be sure to not leave papers or anything on the floor that can be sucked up.

Re: Roomba - anyone have one
I loved my roomba and used it everyday until it started to have a burning smell. I called them and sent the vacuum back to someplace in Suffolk and within a week they sent me a new one. Fast forward a year later and the vacuum does not work again and because it only has a year warantee they advised me to purchase a refurbished one at a discounted rate (which was at least $100 +). I am going to try and bring the thing to a vacuum repair place and see if they can fix it since my DH wont spring for another one. I used it almost every day on all types of floors and it picks up pet hair great but you have to be diligent in cleaning it every time you use it.

Re: Roomba - anyone have one
I don't have one yet, but we asked my parents for one for Christmas - very excited to try it out! We figured it won't replace the handheld, but it'll be helpful for in between major vacuums.
