If I do business just under my name...

Do I have to file it anywhere? I am pretty sure I don't but I want to make sure.

Whenever you make income from anything, you need to file it...DH is an accountant and I double checked for you since I wanted it to work in your favor...(he ruins prize shows and everything by saying it's all taxable income..what a buzzkill!) Good luck!

yes, you will have to file a Schedule C on your income taxes that will detail your income and expenses from your business.

I think she is asking about whether she has to file anything to get started. In most situations, there is nothing to file ahead of time if you are going to do business in your own name as a sole proprietor. You might want to sit down early on and talk to an accountant and/or lawyer about the various business entities, possibile liabilities and how to keep track of income and expenses.
