I totally understand. My dh does the same thing. I can't take it anymore.
I went back to school. I'm getting on my feet. I have 2 kids.

Have you told FIL why you needed the money and that your DH is not planning on using his gift to help get you out of debt but to shop? I hate to be a tattle but perhaps some outside intervention might help wake up your DH. It might help to engage a credit counselor too as a last step before ending it with your DH.
