I take the safe route and wear pants 99% of the time 
me too. If I wear skirts they are to my knee.
Pantyhose very very very rarely.
Business casual dress is a lot different here then up there. Their are somethings I see that is acceptable business casual that I would never see in NY. I've seen woman wearing spaghetti strap tops and no sweater over their shoulders or anything, flip flops, tank tops, and even the VP of HR in denim shorts and sneakers.
I think a skirt to mid thigh and high boots is definately not an outfit to wear to the office but a skirt that short is a common look around here no matter what month it is.
