Re: hospital bag...

The only thing I'm packing for the baby is the going home outfit and a blanket to put over him/her in the carseat.

The BTDT mommies say the hospital gives you formula to take home with you.

Re: hospital bag...

The hospital will give you formula and everything pretty much that you need.

For the baby I am only bringing the clothes and blanket that I want to bring the baby home in.

Re: hospital bag...

Besides all the basic stuff like Pj's, bathroom items, slippers, flip flops, hair ties, coming home outfit for baby, blanket for baby,,,,

Somethings that came in handy for me were....

A travel size package of wipes. It made me feel fresh and alive during and right after labor. It was nice to feel clean after I wiped my hands and faces with them as opposed to a wet paper towel.

Breath spray. I began to vomit and couldnt have anything to drink so the spray came in handy.

My own pads, the hospital ones are terrible.

Chapstick. My lips got sooooooo dry in the hospital. I used almost an entire thing of chapstick.

Re: hospital bag...

I had a small notebook and some pens with me in the hospital. If I thought of any questions for doctors, I wrote them down for the next time I saw a doctor. I also wrote down some little reminders for myself (like to have DH arrange for breast pump rental). I wrote down who called b/c I got some calls and couldn't talk and had to call people back. As it turns out, I am so glad I had the notebook. The pain meds kinda messed with my short term memory.
