Ugh
So our big plan for Thanksgiving was to load up the kids and drive to my ILs from tomorrow night until Sunday night. Now with the rain DH couldn't work today. He is trying to impress a homeowner/developer by doing an A++ job in short amount of time so the homeowner gives him a HUGE job. I completly understand where DH is coming from but now he is saying that he isn't going to my ILs for Thanksgiving and he should stay here and work.
Now, my ILs live 5 hours away. I've driven it myself before when Emma was 18 months so that isn't an issue but its a holiday that he should spend with his family. My ILs havent seen the kids since early October and are so excited to see them. We've been planning on coming up there for 2 months.
To boot my dad passed away Nov 25, 1991. Thanksgiving is a really sh!tty time for me even though it's been 14 years already.
So now I have to decide if we should stay home with my DH and have Thanksgiving with my mom and not go see the ILs who would be disappointed that the kids wont be there (not to mention the extra food they will have) OR if I should take the kids alone and leave DH here OR if I could figure out some way to have DH come with us all the while impressing the homeowner...
I feel so

Re: Ugh
Holidays can be so hard! Can you go and your dh meet you up there? I know its hard with 2 cars, but, maybe you can work something out.
