Dirty Bathtub
I have a cape with a dormer - for some reason I think this makes a difference. My downstairs bathtub is white and it is used WAY more often than upstairs. I use it when I do morning showers and my husband uses it exclusively. Our sons are always bathed downstairs. I have NO PROBLEM keeping that tub clean.
My upstairs bathroom is used maybe 2-3 times a week by me ONLY. It is peach but it gets FILTHY. I don't mean a little scuzzy - I mean that it looks like there is actually DIRT in the tub. It is thick gray soap scum and I have to scrub this tub just about EVERY time I use it.
I was wondering if there is a reason that the upstairs tub might be more susceptible to getting scuzzy. Does anyone else have this challenge?

Re: Dirty Bathtub
It could just be that the tub is older and more porrus (sp?). A newer tub is more freshly glazed, if that makes sense, LOL. A porrus tub will hold onto dirt and soap scum more.

Re: Dirty Bathtub
Does it drain slowly? Growing up, I remember having that problem with our bathtub and there was always a ring.

Re: Dirty Bathtub
The bathtub upstairs is actually newer than the one downstairs!
It doesn't drain slowly - I am wondering if there is a difference in the quality of the water upstairs..

Re: Dirty Bathtub
It's more than likely a steel or fiberglass tub and the finish tends to hold on to more dirt and residue than the older cast iron tubs with porclin finish
