Is this tacky???
We have a son already therefore already had a shower a couple of years ago. I don't want to register but are there places to do a wish list??? And, is this tacky??? People are asking what we need and there are things like another humidifier, bedding pieces, etc. and it would be nice to just have something. I want to avoid getting a lot of clothes becausr we really don't need clothes.
Can I have your opinions on the matter?

Re: Is this tacky???
I know people who have done registries for second or third children. They usually don't broadcast it, but it helped when I was trying to think of a gift for them. It wasn't tacky IMO, especially since they weren't really spreading this info unless asked, but that's JMO.

Re: Is this tacky???
MY last child was almost 7 years ago and although I need a bunch of stuff my mother and I agreed NO shower. I personally feel like its asking too much. I am however getting a few baby things for Christmas from family and for my b-day in January.

Re: Is this tacky???
i dont think so. its not tacky if you only tell people who ask. basically i think of it this way some people are going to get you a gift even if it is your 10th baby. some people wont. that is just the way it is. also you may have met new people since your last shower that would like to get the baby someting. so if you register or set up a wish list and just tell people who ask what you need you are beign helpful not tacky. if one sent out a registry with birth announcements that may be a bit tacky!

I see nothing wrong with registering again, as long as you don't broadcast it. People will ask and then you can tell them about it.

Re: Is this tacky???
My son was born in May 05 my daughter will be born this month.
I made a tiny registry at Target 1. Sit and Stand --(ending up finding one on craigslist barely used and super cheap!) 2. Girly Burp Clothes 3. Girly Bobby Cover 4. Girly Changing Cover 5. New Swing ( my son's went bad) 6. Baby Bjorn (never registered for it w/myds) 7. Some new bottles 8. Girly baby gym/mat my sons baby einstein one got torn up from washing and maybe like 3 other things.
The reason I did it was because I don't have a BRU or Target close by and family lives far away and the Grandma's wanted to buy something but wanted my choices (ok, well atleast my mom did and well my MIL wanted to buy me a swing and I really wanted a certain one so this could guarantee it) and since they couldn't go shopping with me it was the best option. Also with Christmas coming about a month after my DD is due they wanted ideas for Christmas since what do you buy a newborn and finally I didn't broadcast it at all but I had it so I KNEW what I still needed to buy and budget for and to get Target's Completion Regisrty discount.
So both Grandma's knew about it if anyone asked for any ideas and the people who looked for one but honestly my Registry for my DS was very modest and I'm reusing the crib, changer, boppy, pump, carseat, stroller, sling, toys... and all the other good stuff since there only 2 and 1/2 years apart.

Re: Is this tacky???
I would set it up as a wish list at babies r us, and if someone asks what you need, give them the log in info.

Re: Is this tacky???
I would register but only tell people if they ask. I just found out my cousin was registered for a few things for baby #2, because I just decided on my own to search the BRU registry to see if she was on there.
