So disappointed with Rachel Ray
It was HORRIBLE!!!!!!
Our call time yesterday was 2:15. We got there at 12:45. Stood in the freezing cold until they came up to us (we were only #'s 30-33 in line) and told us they ran out of seating. Gave us "VIP" tickets. We have to send an email after January 1st to "request" a new show and start the process all over again. Only difference this time is the next show we pick we are guaranteed to not have to stand in line and guaranteed to get in.
They told about 100 people to go home yesterday. Most of the people they let in were VIP ticket holders (people that have been rejected previously) and somehow a party/group of 31. I think they only took about 20 people off the line.
They really shouldn't pass out so many extra tickets. They had to have known a party of 31 was attending plus all of the VIP ticket holders.
Took a day off of work for nothing.
Thats my vent.

Wow, that's really annoying. Obviously they just need to not give out tickets to one show and let only VIP ticket holders go, so it doesn't get so jammed up. Sorry you had a bad time

I'd be pi$$ed. I would probably mail them their VIP tickets and tell them thanks but not thanks. It's not worth missing 2 days of work to see your stinkin' show

So sorry! Thats what it was like when we went to watch a taping of Wheel of Fortune. It was chaos! There were so many people standing outside waiting and pushing and yelling and we didn't know if we were going to get in, but because it was Radio City I guess they could fit everyone, so I'm pretty sure we all got in. Same deal though, almost everyone had a "VIP" ticket.

Personally, I would write them a letter and tell them that you are very disappointed and stuff and see if they will do anything for you

Good luck, someone on the line said this is standard procedure for her show.
Had I known, I would have showed up at 2:15 just for the VIP pass and made plans to see a broadway show or something so it wouldn't have been such a complete waste.

Most tickets to shows like that will have a line on them that says the ticket does not guarantee you entrance to the show.
It's common practice, that's why they tell you to get there early.
I work for a company that produces a live show and it's right there on the ticket.

Well we got there at 12:45ish, call time being 2:15 and were #30 in the line. That means they let less then 30 people in from the line in. Getting there any earlier probably would have never helped. And considering she does 2 shows a day, the earlier call time being 10:15 you are limited as to how early you can get there anyway.
And I know there was no guarantee. But they took LESS then 20 people off the line out of about 150. Why the heck would they give out so many tickets knowing they had all those VIPS coming in the first place?

I would write a strongly worded letter, send them back their VIP tickets and tell them to shove it!!!!

They overbook (by a large margin) b/c they can't risk having empty seats in the audience. It's so stupid, and I'd be PO'd too!! I'm sorry you wasted a whole day over that! That's awful!!!
