To those who dislike their job, why?
What is about your job that you dislike? What (if anything) do you plan to do about it?

Re: To those who dislike their job, why?
-salary is below average for my position, and I work 6 more weeks than than most school psychologists.
-the administration at my school is ineffective, and those who are supposed to take charge don't do anything.
-there is a complete lack of respect for the role of the school psychologist.
-I work closely with some people who I could easily diagnose with personality disorders!
What am I doing about it? Well, I'm trying to assert myself when and where I can, and gradually trying to create change, while at the same time, looking for another job.

Re: To those who dislike their job, why?
I dislike my job because -
1- there are days when it is so boring I could die
2- I'm treated like a waitress by certain people when my position is Office Manager (I'm the assistant to the partners too so somehow other people think I serve them also)
3- there is special treatment to certain people because they complain...I do my job and expect to be rewarded, I didn't realize I have to start crying to get a raise
4- I'm the only girl in the office so I'm continuously left out of the "boys club"
5- we hire interns that are idiots because they are friends or family members
What am I going to do about it.....for starters I plan to look for a new job after the new year (I want my Christmas bonus), then quite possibly go back to school for something else if we can afford it.

Re: To those who dislike their job, why?
-the company is cheap - EXTREMELY difficult to get raises/promotions - hard work not recognized
What am I going to do about it? Well, eventually I will leave. But I am staying right now because the flexiblity and benefits outweigh the negatives.

Re: To those who dislike their job, why?
I don't hate my job or even dislike it all that much. I tend to like it, but not LOVE it. The thing I dislike about it is the hours - they can be very long.

Re: To those who dislike their job, why?
I dislike my job....
1. I'm underpaid for my position and my experise isn't appreciated yet I have to be the "go to" person for the team.
2. I am micromanaged at times and it's completely unwarrented. I have never done anything to have them question me in certain circumstances.
3. The bosses are petty and sometimes make it seem as if I'm stealing food out of their children's mouths.
4. I reduced my hours to p/t after my dd's birth and the only reduction was in my pay...not my work load
I am staying at this time because I do have some flexiblity that helps with dd and it is not far from home. Plus, it keeps me current in the industry and that is very important.

Re: To those who dislike their job, why?
-because i don't get paid even half of what i should get paid for putting my life on the line every day... much less even enough to pay my bills.
-because i am tired of spending $600+ in gas every month commuting
-because when i have plans to do something, i want to keep those plans, not have to cancel them or rejuggle my life around because i am forced to stay late or come in on my day off
-because i'd like a freakin holiday off too! because i don't know what it's like to eat thanksgiving dinner with my husband, or kiss him at midnight on new year's eve.
-because when i have children, i won't always get to be there on christmas morning, or on a snow day, or stay home with them when they are sick. and i don't want to miss these things.
-because i am tired of being told that i am a racist cracker b!tch just because i am doing my job... putting someone behind bars who just beat the crap out of his kid's mother. and i'm tired of being given the finger by 4 year old kids who doesn't know what it means, but know to hate the uniform.
