Update on Meiko
So we went to the vet and minus a minor yeast infection in her ears, she got a clean bill of health.
The vet refused to prescribe anti-anxiety meds.
She recommends "re-training". Training is not the issue here.
As it is, things are about the same as where we left off. Everything we try works for a day or so, and then she eventually misbehaves again.
The other day I caught her in the act. DH left early in the morning and I was still home and in bed (so was Jake). Meiko evidently thought she had been left alone and immediately began rifling through a bag of Jake's old things that I had in a closet. She pulled out old baby bottles and collars. So random. And I could hear and sense the anxiety in her.
I know the issue is anxiety and after doing some reading I am now convinced that meds will work.
Now I just need to find a vet that is willing to prescribe them. Any recommendations?

Re: Update on Meiko
Have you tried a trainer just in case?
Anxiety in dogs can be caused by diff things:
- Seperation Anxiety - Maybe the dog doesnt "know her role" in the household and needs more direction. - Lack of excercise. (Not that I am saying you dont excercise her but some dogs need a ridiculous amt of exercise)
