bikini wax while pg?
Has anyone done it? Is it safe? I'm thinking about making it a regular thing while PG, if it's safe.

You can get a bikini wax. Just don't ever use Nair.

Just be forewarned that your skin is more sensitive when you're pregnant and it's recommended that you not take ibuprofen when pregnant (which is an anti-inflammatory that helps relieve discomfort.) I've found that Tylenol doesn't really help the discomfort much.

Re: bikini wax while pg?
I am almost 12 weeks pregnant and just got a bikini wax today. I did notice that in some areas in hurt a little more, but the pain only lasts a for a few seconds.
Keep in mind that after your 4th month you should not be lying flat on your back, so make sure you tell your waxer that you need an alternative position for the waxing.

Why can't you lie on your back? It's not like a bikini waxing takes that long...30 minutes at most.
Your sonos are done while on your back right? (I was on my back for close to an hour for my level II with my current pregnancy and the sono-tech didn't seem to have any concerns about it.)
I waxed throughout my first pregnancy and never had an issue being on my back...same with this pregnancy. I also slept on my back throughout most my 1st pregnancy without any problems.

Re: bikini wax while pg?
I know this is random, but I saw a girl on Judge Judy(or one of those shows) who was suing because she got a bikini wax while pg(at her regular place) and she said they knew she was p/g and did not warn her and she was in a ton of pain and was bleeding and wound up scabbed. The place said if they knew she was p/g they would not have done it because they never do bikini was on p/g ladies, because this can happen. So, I do not know first hand but thought I would share.

Something similar happened to my girlfriend when she was pregnant with her first child.
I figured it was worth me taking that risk during my 1st pregnancy and it didn't happen to me (although it did hurt considerably more.) Same with this pregnancy.

I've been reading Your Pregnancy Week by Week and it keeps saying that when you lie on your back after your 4th month you put a lot pressure on your aorta and on your vena cava which could limit your blood supply and the blood supply to the baby.
The advice said not to sleep on you back and not to do any exercises flat on your back. As long as you are not flat on your back it's ok.

Re: bikini wax while pg?
I still get waxed. They are more gentle and do smaller sections at a time. It's really not so bad. They told me that after my 4th month they would not let me lie flat on my back. They elevate the bed thing for the majority of the time and have me flip (yep, doggy style) for the rest. Mind you, this is only for brazilian.
(There's no dignity in pregnancy!)

Re: bikini wax while pg?
I did it for the first time at 17 weeks and she was gentle with me but found the pain to be the same as when I used to get bikini before pregnancy..she also used a wax that was specific for sensitive skin so there was less redness. I am going back next week and I did lay on my back.
I actually wake up on my back a lot even with the body pillow (I push it away while sleeping).

Re: bikini wax while pg?
Oh God no! It's safe, don't get me wrong, but at this point, I feel uncomfortable enough without having a bikini waxing.
But you may be a braver soul than I. If you want to do it, it's fine.
