Did your family move around often when you were growning up?
Spinoff to leaving post:
I love my family, but I would move away for a better quality of life.
I did move around a lot when I was young. We lived in NY, Maine, Seattle, and a few places in FL. I never minded moving and found it exciting and new. DH is the same, his family moved around a lot as well.
I think that has a lot to do with the fact that we would have no problem moving away.

Nope! My mom is still in the same house I was born in. (My dad passed away Feb 05  )

No, but I have moved about 4 times since leaving college. I was away from this area for a while and came back. I think now, at my age and place in life I am not willing to move far away again in the near future. Maybe once I retire I would re-think it.

We didnt move all over the country or anything exciting but we did move around Queens about 5 different times. Nothing earth shattering but in different enough neighborhoods to have to go to new schools and make new friendships all the time.

There are so many places I would love to live. Boston, Colorado, Montana...I don't think I want to be planted in one spot forever.

Born: Smithtown
Lived 1 year-8th grade: NJ
9th grade: Moved upstate NY
10-12th grade: Boarding school in CT
College: Upstate NY
Summers: Saratoga Springs, NY
Post-college: Long Island
I also feel more willing to move because of having lived in many places. I also know from experience that there are some nicer places out there! The area where we lived has changed, and I wouldn't want to raise kids where we live now.

We didnt move alot when I was younger. I was born in Queens and then raised in Suffolk County. My dad still lives there.

Same here. It was always tough making new friends....that after a while......i just stopped. I wouldn't do it to my kids.

This was us too only we moved many times in the same neighborhood.
