I found this particularly appaling...
He should not beat her like he would beat an animal or a child -- slapping them right and left.
Apparently hitting an animal and CHILD are done in the same manner, but you should be more 'careful' hitting women.

We had rules for wife beating right here in the good ol US of A.....
But, with nothing wider than the man's thumb....

And if that doesn't work?

Beat me? you better be prepared to get a size 7 1/2 shoe out of your a$$

i thought that was just for children... that was for wives too??
good to see times have changed... or not.
honestly it boggles my mind that some people - regardless of race or ethnicity - still find this acceptable. i am not JUDGING, just saying that i am amazed. clearly i am sheltered.

There are way more than most people realize right here where we live that are beating their wives and think they are absolutely entitled to do so. They are people from all ethnic, relighious and socio-economic backgrounds. Just an example, the Suffolk County PD responded to over 30,000 domestic incidents last year. Sad, but true and that's only the cases that are reported.
