I was just offered a job...
so a friend of mine just offered me a job working for an event/party planning company. the company owns and operates numerous bars and clubs in nyc and i would be the assistant to the CEO. now mind you, i never interviewed for the job but i know the CEO and because we get along so well and he knows my work ethic and sales/negotiating skills he wants me for the position.
right now, im a REA and have a flexible schedule that i make and i've gotten used to that. i make a decent living but its slowing down now that the market has slumped. i LOVE selling houses and if i took this position it would really limit when i would go on appointments.
do i take this new job? starting salary is kinda low to commute but the incentives and bonuses are HUGE for whenever i open a new place and he's offering me a nice yearly raise! and the hours are 10-6 and its walking distance from penn! oh geez, im so torn!

Re: I was just offered a job...
I really wouldn't know what to do either. I would probably lean more towards taking the job and seeing where it goes from there. Worse thing that could happen is that it wont work out- at least you have the real estate business to fall back on. People are always going to buy houses & people are always going to go out & party so its a tough decision. My only advice is to trust your gut. If the new job takes up too much of your time & you feel you can live comfortably off of that salary alone- you can always take a break from the RE business then jump back in later on. Sorry if I confused you more.
