LIRR commuters....
How was your commute home last night?!  
I took a 5:09 out of Penn and didn't get home until almost 8:00 because of the signal problems... @(#*$%(!&%!

When I got off at Babylon, they were reporting a 72 minutes delay for one train.  5 minutes and 59 seconds my arse!

!/2 delay. At least I had a seat and it was warm. I had a 102 fever when I got home and my son was asleep when I got home!
Got to love the LIRR!

We got stranded at Hicksville... they only provided 4 buses for a packed double decker... what were they thinking with that one?!

I was only about 10 minutes delayed, but my train switched from an express to a local. The intercom system also wasn't working.. so the entire ride we had to listen to that musical sound the "newer" trains make when they are about to make an announcement. The noise kept playing over and over and over again.. the conductor couldn't make an announcement.. the music just kept playing...

it was horrible!!! I took the 7:11PM train home and didn't get to my house until 9:05PM. GRRRRRRR!!! For over $300 a month, give me some service already!

I was reading your post and laughing wondering if we were on the same train. The ding donging was driving me INSANE!
Everytime they made an announcement it sounded like the teacher speaking in a charlie Brown cartoon.

I'm on the Babylon line and had no delays. DH and I took different trains and had no issues. I took the 5:27 (which is way early for me) and he took the 8:08...

I must have been lucky b/c I got a 5:13 pm from Penn to Seaford and got in on time but my mom on the other hand got home an hour later!

I was on the 6:13 Long Beach, I was running down the stairs and it was 5 min. delays, then I was getting on the car and it was 15 minute delays, when the conductor shut the doors it was 30 minutes...and this all happening in a 2 minute span...
we inched to Jamaica and then it ws OK, I was 30 minutes late.

You both missed it then. The problems were right between those times. I got the 6:27, which got to Babylon at 8:20 and my friend was on the 5:36 and got home at 8.
It took 50 minutes for us to go from Penn to Jamaica.

That would explain why News12 was at the Long Beach station last night.
DH wasn't feeling well and left early. I was shocked - he never does that. But good thing, because he got in at 5:30 on time! If he had gotten stuck on the train again, he would have freaked.

I was on the 5:55 train to Long Beach and it got into the LB station at 7:30. It crawled to Jamaica and then went local I wanted to kill myself
oh yeah- this train usually gets in around 6:50pm so it was delayed over 1/2 hr

I was on the 5:36 last night when they cancelled service - they let us out at Bellmore. They would go station to station as they were allowed. My husband picked me up in Bellmore, thank goodness! Got home around 7pm.
