As Your Bump Gets Bigger...
have you noticed that most ads for maternity clothes show women with quite small bumps?
I didn't notice this before, but now that I'm 8 months, I keep thinking hmmmm, she looks like she's 5 months, tops! None of them look like me at this point.
Maybe they do that because that's when most women really start to wear maternity clothes?

I've noticed that too. Also, a few sites, I think the gap was one of them, it looked like the models didn't even have a belly at all.

I think it's because at 5 months preggo you look all cute and round and at 8/9 months preggo...not so much. I know everyone's telling me how big I got and I'm just 7 months. I don't hear the word 'cute' so much anymore.

Most people would not be enticed to buy the stuff if they saw what it looks like on an 8-9 month belly.

Just like in all other clothing adds- they are fakely small. I hate models. Plus I bet they are all wearing a fake belly.

Yeah, I know they do this with plus size clothing too. I think I read most plus size models are a size 14, which really isn't plus.
You know, I hadn't thought about it, but I haven't been told I look cute in a long time. I'm hearing more, "Wow you're getting big!" or "You're blooming!," which I take to be a nice way of saying you are big!

I feel the same. And DH doesn't make me feel any better. I said to him "I feel so big" and he goes "You are".  He said he didn't mean it in a bad way, but that I just am getting bigger.

I did notice that, on some online sites I actually wondered if tehy used pregnant models or not because their bellies were tiny!

While looking at JCPenney maternity, i was reminded of this post.
Come on... are they even TRYING to make her look pregnant?
I want to see how this would look on an 8 month pregnant lady. Sheesh!

Actually, I tried on a long sleeve version of this today, and it did not fit right! It was too high in the front, revealing my knees  . No one wants to see my knees right now, including myself.
I tried on a bunch of maternity dresses, and they were all riding too high in the front. Guess they don't really make these clothes for 8-9 month bellies either!
