Re: Leg cramps...
First I hear that drinking more water can help and bananas for the potassium.
What I do when I get them is, because obviously they wake me up, I stand up with my foot on the floor, the blood flows back down and they are generally over in a few seconds. If I stay in bed and wait for it to pass, it tends to be much more painful and takes longer to pass.

I've started getting these too. I had a bad one last night...I just flexed my foot and it seemed to pass. But, my calf is so sore today. I also read that potassium helps - bananas, raisins, etc

Re: Leg cramps...
Definitely start on the bananas - one a day for a few days should do the trick.
I had this issue a couple of weeks ago and also had a craving for bananas at the same time (which I normally can't eat because of the high level of postassium ). Had a banana a day for a couple of days and the looked up the cramps (which wre pretty much gone by that point) and the book(s) recommended more potassium. Crazy!

Re: Leg cramps...
2 tums with every meal and a banana a day. Also, a glass of warm milk, as soon as the cramps start

Re: Leg cramps...
My Lamaze instructor told me that when I feel one beginning, to flex my foot so that my toes are toward my head..to not flex out, that that makes it worse. I've tried it and she's right!
