is this too corny??
so i'm playing around with our christmas cards on shutterfly, and i'm wondering i've gone over-the-top corny!
i'm doing a collage card with 4 pics on it. one of DH and i on our trip to germany, one of our new house that we bought this year, one of us on our trip to maine, and one of us at a corn maze we just did last weekend ( pretty fall trees in the background).
i also made up a poem..   it says
"A trip to Germany, and one to Maine
Bought a new house, and did a corn maze"
then it says ' hope your 2007 was just as wonderful! Merry christmas and a happy 2008"
WAAAY too much, or no??

It doesn't rhyme, though.... 
I don't think it's corny. It's kind of cute. Nothing says holiday cards have to be serious.

LOL... i thought "Maine and "maze" kind of go together.... LOL i'm not worried about the ending part rhyming 
ETA: i just realized if i change "Wonderful" to "great", it would rhyme with "2008" LOL then the whole thing would be a poem! oh man!! its time for me to go home!

Off-rhymes, or near-rhymes are good for cards. Shows creativity, and the fact that you aren't tied down by the establishment's rules.
off rhyme
n. A partial or imperfect rhyme, often using assonance or consonance only, as in dry and died or grown and moon. Also called half rhyme, near rhyme, oblique rhyme, slant rhyme.

Well..... If I'm being honest, I do think it's a bit too much. I will say, though, that I'm not a real fan of adults doing photo cards of themselves -- but I realize this is just my own personal opinion...

honestly i think its a lil too much. i would omit the corn maize. i like the two trips and new house though. thats cool and something that people who havent heard from you in awhile would like to know.

if you have to ask if it's too corny, then it probably is, however, don't let that stop you, be corny! You might get a little ribbing from your friends/family, but who cares, they'll think it's cute.

I don't disagree but I would wonder why the corn maze pic was included if not part of the "poem" but I'm odd like that with needing symmetry.
