Hair Straightening Freak Out

Ok, so I got the Brazilian hair straightening done twice because the first time didn't work. I wore a paper mask when the hairdresser ironed my hair because of formaldahyde fumes.

Anyway, the other day I went to a new hair dresser to get a hair cut and the guy pulls out this crazy article about how we do not know what the long-term side effects of brazilian hair straightening will be. He freaked me out so bad. He was saying breathing in the formaldahyde could lead to brain tumors, etc. I don't know, I don't want to scare people for no reason, but the hairdresser freaked me out to no end.

I don't know about the article but would say that if it's an issue with formadelhyde than I imagine a lot of morticians would be dealing with the same tumors.

I don't think there's a reason to totally freak out, however I remember reading something about someone dying because the percentage of formadahyde they used was too high...I think there was a thread on this in fashion and beauty....saying that it isn't really healthy for you...if you're concerned you might want to look further into the practice.
