probably...... I'm pretty sure you need one for a deck, so it makes sense that any structure you sit under would also need one Chat Icon

If the structure is attached to your house, yes. If it's not attached, then no.

i think the rule of thumb is...if anything is added to the survey of the house and changes what that plan of the house looks like (example....decks, patios, bump outs kitchens or bathrooms garages etc) then a CO is needed

If it is a plastic roof over the patio no but if its covered with roofing shingles yes. I built my parents and covered it with awning plastic and did not need a CO according to the T.O.B.

More than likely. A house we looked at didn't have a CO for their deck and they refused to get one, so we left the negotiating table.

you do.
my parents got one years ago and didn't get a CO for it, but they don't plan on selling so they really didn't care. you're supposed to have one though.
