why do I even bother?
Mike and I are always having people over, hosting barbeques/parties/etc and no one ever reciprocates. I am so totally sick of it and I am DONE.
Anyone else have this problem with friends?
I'm having a Halloween party this weekend and people are taking their sweet azz time rsvp-ing...at this point only 4 other couples are coming and I invited at least 10-12. Everyone has a lame excuse and I'm starting to think that I suk at hosting things. At any rate, this is my last party ever. I'm so bitter.

ill come to your bbq haha
it does stink when noone realizes how much work a bbq or a party is... its fun for the party goers but exhausts the hosts!
and u guys totally dont suk at hosting! i can only imagine the fun that happens at one of the parties...

I ended up entertaining a lot this summer for friends & family. Yes its stressful for the host (very stressful) but it was our first summer in our new condo so we wanted to. I doubt we'll do it as much next summer.

We have the same problem. I stopped making everything for the party. If we're throwing a party, I make everyone else bring the food, drink, etc. It's enough that its in my house all the time.
But yeah, for all the drama leading up the party, we always say we're never going to do it again...... and then we do 3 or 4 months later.

This past summer, my husband invited all of his friends and their wives/girlfriends over for a BBQ to see the baby and not a single one of them brought their wives/girlfriends. So basically i "waited" on his friends the whole night and had to clean up when they decided at 2:00 am to finally go to a bar. I was ******!! And they NEVER reciprocate!

Oh my god I had the SAME conversation with my husband last night. We are always inviting people over for dinner & bbq's and it is always the same 3 people that invite us back.
