Those who have ordered NC Furniture...
How does it work? Did you actually go there? Did you order online? Did you see it in person somewhere else and then order?
Can you tell me reputable stores. How long did the furniture take to deliver.
Sorry for all the questions..Thanks for your help!

Re: Those who have ordered NC Furniture...
We saw our Canadel dining set and hutch in Fortunoff's. Once we had the model numbers for what we wanted to order, we called a place in NC based on a recommendation from a friend. We placed the order, and once they got our 50% deposit, they said they would start the manufacture of it. I was told it would take 16 week and it basically did.
When it was delivered, we had to pay the remaining balance in cash, plus pay a delivery fee. However, even with the delivery fee, we still saved more than $2000 on the set.
We were 1000% happy with it and would recommend them.

Re: Those who have ordered NC Furniture...
We ordered our bassett entertainment center, coffee table, and end table from Hickory Park Galleries. I picked out what I wanted online and by going to a Bassett store. Then, I called them for a quote. I also called High Point Furniture Sales but their quote was a little higher. When I purchased, I put down a 50% deposit, I think, and then when the order came in I gave them the rest so that it could be shipped. Shipping was due on delivery. When I ordered they said it would take 4 weeks (everything was "in stock" so it is shorter than couches, for instance, which often are custom) for them to get it and another 2-4 weeks for me. It ended up taking longer than 4 weeks...I think 8. So I b*tched and they had it delivered in a week. Overall, it was a really good experience with HUGE savings. I think I saved almost $2000. I would definitely do it again and probably will with baby furniture. My SIL has ordered twice from HP Galleries and had relatively good experiences. The only issue she had also was a delay in the couch coming in, but I think that could be an issue regardless if you ordered from NC or a store here. Just plan on it taking a little longer than they say in case. HTH

Re: Those who have ordered NC Furniture...
We went down to NC and I would recommend doing the same. One of the reasons that I liked it so much is that we actually saw a lot of stuff that no one around here sells!
The bedroom set and tables for our LR were made by a manufacturer that does not have any distributers on LI (and I don't think in the city either).
The whole trip cost about $1000 for a 3 day weekend and I estimate that we saved between $7 - 10,000. It is definitely worth the trip if you are planning on furnishing at least 2 rooms.
Unfortunately, the place that we bought from went out of business, but Furniture Land South is still there as is Thomasville.
There is a great book called Shopping the North Carolina Furniture Outlets that I would recommend reading if you are thinking about making the trip. One note - all of the stores are closed on Sundays and they close 2x a year for market. In addition I would HIGHLY recommend that you make detailed drawings of the rooms that you are looking for furniture for (where outlets are, where light switches are, how high off the floor windows are etc.) this way you know what will fit and what won't.
We got a whole bedroom set (bed, 2 nightstands with marble tops, dresser and armoire), sofa, loveseat and chair and a half with ottoman and a cocktail table and sofa table and the delivery was only $900. Most of the pieces are made to order so furniture does take about 12 weeks to come in.
FM if you have any questions!

Re: Those who have ordered NC Furniture...
We ordered our dining room set from NC. We saw it in a store here. It was a Broyhill set so we also looked it up online and got all the style numbers and etc.
Then I researched a few companies in NC. I called about 8 of them and got price quotes on the furniture, delivery fees and payment options. I finally decided on a company. Then I looked them up with the Better Business Bureau and they had a good rating.
Next, I called the company and placed the order. It took 6 weeks to get here.
FM me for the company name.
