Where can I donate a turkey?
I would like to donate a turkey for Thanksgiving to a food bank or kitchen but have no idea how to do this or where to go.
Any suggestions?

Island Harvest will defintely take them.

Call them because last year the supermarkets and Panera would take them and put them in the freezer/fridge until someone from IH would pick them up.
They have received requests from agencies for 22,000 turkeys this year!!

Every year Shop Rite gives away turkeys when you spend a certain amount. So since I shop there I rack up the dollars. They have a program where you can get the turkey for free or donate it. I usually donate it. I don't know where they send it but I would imagine other supermarkets do the same thing.

My grocery store gives a coupon for the turkey that you pick up right before thanksgiving I guess. I bring the coupon over to the local Rec Center in my town and they take care of it.

We give the one DH gets from work every year to our parish food drive.
Check local churches, Salvation army or red cross centers etc.....
