Uhh....What does this mean?
Over a month ago...me and FH got a car. Got it in his moms name b/c insurance is 5k a year if we put it in ours..so she had to take out the loan for us....
We never got a bill until today-he jsut called me, and the bill says "sorry your loan was denied".
W T F????????????????

Nope, in his mothers. Cuz in order to insure the car under HER name u have to take out the loan in HER name.

if you signed all the papers already and already own the cars its yours. I dont think they can take it back. Its an error on there side so what will happen is you will just be approved at the payment you agreed on. This happened to a firend of mine. For two months she never got a bill, they bought two cars at once and when the 2nd car went through the bank thought it was for the first car and that they just changed vin# when really they were buying 2 cars. She wasnt approved to have two cars after they figured it out but it was too latw at that point. So basically They cant take the car back from you if you already signed contracts. Worse case scenario if they say you have to bring the car back contact your attorney.

I would call the bank or whoever issued the letter to confirm that identity theft did not take place. When/if you call don't give them any personal info -- it could be a trick to get your ss# but if it were me, I would have to double check.

The same thing happened to me. After I had the car in my possession, the dealer called to tell me that the loan wasn't approved. They were able to get another loan from a different bank but it was a little nerve-racking for a few days. My DH used to be a repo man and while they technically can take the car back (even though you have signed papers) it is the absolutely last thing they want to do (it costs them hundreds to do this).
Did you get it through a dealer? Definitely call them or the bank and stay on top of them until it gets resolved. If things start to look shady, call a lawyer.
