Dear Cablevision-AKA the Dolan Empire-UPDATE

your service is horrible and your field techs are no better. I told the 20 year old that you sent to my house 4 years ago when I moved in that running my main cable wire to my modem(computers & PHONE) INSIDE my GUTTER was probably not a great idea. However that Mensa member assured me he does it "all the time". Since I have lived in this house with this lazy-man's set up I have had chronic issues with my service. I have spent countless hours waiting for a human to pick up as your automated phone service tries to sell me more of your crappy products.
Now today my MIL is here from Florida while my DH & I go to work with no telephone(thank god she has a cell and for that matter thank god I have one too because if I relied on the phone service I pay YOU to provide I'd be screwed). So today I will rush home from work to wait for another one of your techs to figure out how we can solve this issue. Don't worry about wasting my time, I've got nothing better to do. I'm only having 40 people at my house for a party on Sunday, its not like I was planning on going to the store after work or anything.
Oh and BTW, thank you again for assuring me when I cancelled my phone with verizon that optimum voice is very reliable & I wouldn't have an issue with my home alarm. That was another LIE, my entire household enjoyed the relentless beeping of our central station keypad to alert us we have no dial tone AGAIN all night long.
The good news is the person I spoke to last night to schedule my appointment actually spoke English in a manner that was somewhat easy to understand-kudos to you for that.
The very second we have another option for high speed internet out here I AM GONE.
I'm sure my neighbor's kid won't mind that I'm hitching an internet ride on his unsecure x-box wireless connection AGAIN.

****UPDATE****
the service tech just left, he was SO nice. Our outside connection was messed up and we needed a new a new modem. I actually had a transaction with Cablevision that was pleasant!!

I laugh when they try to tell me all the reasons why I should switch to IO Voice. I patiently wait for them to finish their sales pitch and politely say no. I once had an over zealous representative on the phone who would not let it go. I just told him "I know you're just doing your job, but lets move on, I am NOT ever switching from Verizon!"

I came home from work a few days ago to no internet & no TV. it didn't turn back on until around 7:30pm. that happens way too often and everytime it does, it proves my point.

I would go down there in person if I were you. I know next to nothing about wiring, but somehow... running a line inside a gutter seems asinine to me

Cablevision has cheap equipment. Our HD-DVR blows up every 6 months. It is too late for us to change, but you need to run away from the Dolan's.

Don't even get me started on Dolan Jr. I have nothing good to say about him professionally or personally... it all carries over.

I knew someone who was BF's with his ex wife...
he really, really did a number on her.

Oh, the stories I could tell about that man

Let's just say his demeanor concerning the recent Isaiah Thomas case did not surprise me one bit He's no better at business.
